SEO for Coders

From: Desert Code Camp 2007

Notes:

www.ranks.nl is a good site for keywords

Google search: Using allintitle in Google search finds all pages with only those words in the title. Can also use double quotes in this section to find contiguous words.

Use mod rewrites to clean up URL's. Should have dashes to break up words in url. Don't use parameters on url. Look at digg.com and wikipedia.org for good examples. Drupal automatically does the dashes for you if you're using it.

Validate site with XHTML. Validated sites rank higher.
